I would much rather an extension that blocked out wire stories from AP, AAP, Reuters, etc. They shit me more than anything else in digital media. A Firefox extension that blanked out wire story headlines would deny publishers their precious page views, which they would see was caused only by unoriginal wire content and then force them into hiring more journalists to invest in unique content. Blocking ads just hurts advertising effectiveness metrics and deny these media companies revenue but won’t challenge them to improve their editorial quality.
